What is MultiSUITE CAD ?

Our full AutoCAD^Ž add-on based applications require you to have already purchased a full copy of AutoCAD^Ž.

However our MultiSUITE CAD products are different.

MultiSTEEL CAD and MultiREBAR CAD are fully self contained Structural Steel and Rebar detailing CAD packages.

Both products are powered with the worlds leading AutoCAD^Žtechnology developed by Autodesk.

An OEM agreement (Original Equipment Manufacturer) has been signed directly
with Autodesk to allow us to provide you with a tailored industry specific CAD solution.

Am I running the latest upgrade of MultiSUITE CAD ?

Type MABOUT and check your build date matches the latest upgrade date.

What AutoCAD DWG format does MultiSUITE CAD Save in ?

MultiSUITE CAD will open and save to the latest version of AutoCAD which is the 2008 Drawing format.

You can also set MultiSUITE CAD to always save in 2000 DWG format. (see next FAQ)

I have other AutoCAD 2000/2002 users/clients and projects and want to keep my drawings 2000 format - Can I do this ?

Yes - you will still be able to open 2004/2005/2006 format drawing.

Everytime you save your drawing it will be saved as 2000 format and your other users/clients will be able to open your drawings.

Where are my support files now located ?

Three locations
1) C:\Multi\Mcad2005\Support
2) C:\Multi\Mcad2005\UserDataCache\Support
3) C:\Multi\Support

IMPORTANT
For the upgrade changes to take effect you must remove C:\Documents and Settings\(User)\Application Data\MultiSUITE\MultiSUITE 2005\R8\enu\Support from of the AutoCAD search path.
Using the Tools | Options | Files Tab

That way only the upgraded C:\Multi\Mcad2005\UserDataCache\Support\ MCAD.PGP and MCAD.MNU files will be found and used.

Why cannot I not see my C:\Multi\Mcad2005\UserDataCache\Support\ folder ?

Some versions of Windows will see the UserDataCache as a hidden folder.

In Windows Explorer set your Show Hidden Files and folders

You can then use Windows Explorer - File | Properties to un-tick the Hidden attribute on the UseDataCache folder and all sub folders.

How do I recompile the screen menu within MultiSUITE CAD ?

1) Type MENU at the command line
2) Select the Mcad menu and press the Unload button
3) Copy and Paste this line C:\Multi\Mcad2005\UserDataCache\Support\Mcad.mnu
        into the File Name and press the Load button
4) Exit MultiSUITE CAD and then restart it

Why is the Rectangle command not working from the draw Pull-down menu ?

Type MKEYS and add a RECTANG hotkey to use the MRECTANG command.


Restart MultiSUITE CAD

When I Double Click on an object I want the Modify Dialog box to be displayed ?

Type DBLCLKEDIT at the command line and set this variable to be 1

Type PICKFIRST at the command line and set this variable to be 1

Why has my hardware lock prefix changed from 505 to 605 ?

When you run MultiSUITE CAD 2005 you will need new serial codes that have a 605 prefix.

These will be emailed to you - if you have not received new 605 prefix codes please
contact support@multisuite.com and we will email you new codes straight away.

My keyboard keys like Ctrl+S and F5 do not work ?

Use the Tools | Options | User Preferences Tab to check that the following option is ticked

Tools | Customize | Keyboard can be used to define your own hotkeys.

type MKEYS to edit the standard MultiSUITE Hotkeys that are saved in the MCAD.PGP file

The loading of my Layer Dialog box is takes a long time to display ?

If you delete all of the Layer Filters then the Layer Dialog box displays quickly.



Save the drawing.

Layer dialog box will then display quickly.

The Copy/Paste commands from the edit pull-down menu do not always seem to work ?

This may occur if the drawing you are copying from is AutoCAD 2000 dwg format.

Before MultiSUITE CAD will recognize old 2000 objects you must re-save the drawing.
(in either 2000 or 2004 DWG format)

Save the drawing as 2000 or 2004 format and then reopen the drawing.

Alternatively do not save the drawing just use the MultiDRAFT block library to add the objects you require to a temp icon and then import this into your target drawing.

How can I show the full path to my current drawing on the title bar ?

Use the Tools | Options | Open and Save tab.

When I type SETVAR or any variable name like DIMSCALE at the command line a new dialog is shown - I this correct ?

All variables are now set using this new feature. You can also export and import all variables so that variables can be transferred between drawings.

I see a fatal error when I start MultiSUITE CAD ?

If you open any of the MultiSUITE menu files using standard AutoCAD or MultiSUITE CAD 2000 you may get this error.

To correct this double click on the C:\Multi\Mcad2005\_delete_compiled_multi_menus.bat

and this will delete the compiled menus so that MultiSUITE CAD will then be able to start.

When I open old 2000 DWG format drawings the leaders do not appear as expected.

Follow this procedure to correct the leader appearance.

When I try to select objects - I can only seem to select one object ?

Use Tools | Options | Selection Tab

Un-tick Use Shift to add selection option.

Where are my Auto Save files located ?

The Auto save files, by default, now have a ac$ extension (not sv$)
