MultiSTEEL New Features

Draw Steel Dialog Box
When drawing new steel the Justification and rotation of the steel is now shown dynamically on the draw steel dialog box. You can also pick on the steel shape image to quickly specify the Justification and the view direction for when the steel is drawn.

Edit Steel Dialog Box
Several steel properties can be changed at one time. As options are changed on the dialog box the changes are made on the drawing and can be previewed before accepting the changes. The new MATCHSTEEL command allows the required properties of an existing steel object to be copied to many other objects. (Also known as Cloning)

Steel Objects
In the past steel objects were made up of a stick line with individual polymesh, lines, arcs and text. In the new version these are formed into one intelligent steel object. This makes the selection and general editing of steel much easier.

Curved Steel
Now 3D Steel can be shown as true curved steel. This new feature is also incorporated into the Ladder Hoops, Curved Platforms and Curved Handrail Objects.

Handrailing
With the new curved steel feature your handrails will look even better. User definable posts can also be defined within the handrail style and objects. This allows handrail ball joints or post footings to be shown.

Plate Objects
MultiSTEEL Plates objects are now even more intelligent. Form AutoCAD objects that are drawn in any UCS into plate in seconds. Add Openings to existing plates or edit plate properties such as grade or thickness. Use all AutoCAD edit commands including Grips to edit the plates. Plates are included in all Reporting and Center of gravity calculations.

Cladding Objects
Draw or form cladding sheet objects in seconds. Cladding and Purlin objects are included in all Reporting and Center of gravity calculations.

Pipe Coping and Roll outs
Pipes can be cut-back in either 2D, 3D Polymeshes or hollow AutoCAD Solids. The cut lengths sent to the material lists are now shown as the maximum required and take pipe wall thickness and weld angles into account. Multiple intersections are supported and connections can be modelled anywhere in 3D space. Wrap around generators and cutting sketch features can be purchased as an optional module.

Other minor new features
A number of other new features are also included: These include new grid layouts for Offshore Rig structures and MATCHSTEEL.

We are pleased to announce that all MultiSUITE products are now shipping on the recently released AutoCAD 2006.

The latest version of the MultiSTEEL link with Staad Pro has been updated to allow for the recent changes that have been introduced into the STD file format. This upgrade is available free of charge to all maintained MultiSTEEL/Staad link users.

New core ActiveX Technology released....
Major new developments have been made with both MultiSTEEL and MultiREBAR that introduce new ActiveX based technology into the core of all products within the suite. This new technology allows steel and rebar objects to react dynamically to on-screen editing and provides improved selection and display representations.

Network Licence Manager reduces time...
A new version of MultiSUITE Network Licence Manager has been released that allows improved performance running from a central server. Adding local computers to run the MultiSUITE takes a matter of minutes to set-up and ensures that you are getting the most out of your licensed copies. Having the software installed only once greatly reduces the time taken to update the software and means that all users are reading from the same configuration and customized library files.

MultiSTEEL Export to Xsteel....
Xsteel is a fully automated fabrication detailing system that is developed by Tekla. We are pleased to announce that an optional export feature has been added to MultiSTEEL 3D that will allow a complete MultiSTEEL 3D Model to be exported directly to Xsteel for further detailing.

MultiSTEEL Export to StruCad SNF format...
StruCad is a leading fabrication system developed by AceCad. We are pleased to announce that an optional export feature has been added to MultiSTEEL 3D that will allow a complete MultiSTEEL 3D Model to be exported directly to StruCad for further connection and workshop detailing.

MultiSTEEL Detailer improved....
The MultiSTEEL Detailer module has been updated to provide improved functionality for mezzanine details and cold rolled thin gauge steel flooring sections. All common cold rolled databases are included free of charge to all maintained MultiSTEEL users. A number of new dimension style settings can now be configured and provide both continuous and baseline dimensioning of holes and fixings on the individual workshop drawings.

RAM import now available for MultiSTEEL....
Would like to be able to send your RAM 3D model to MultiSTEEL 3D? ..Now you can. This optional module will import the RAM model and draw the steel in MultiSTEEL as intelligent steel objects. 2D drawings can be generated using the standard MultiSTEEL sectioning tools.

MultiSTEEL now links to Frameworks and PDS....
We have been asked for some time to allow our MultiSTEEL models to be linked as intelligent steel work into both Frameworks and PDS. We are pleased to announce that this link has now been developed and is available as an optional module.

PDMS Export to include Special Plate work....
A new mapping file system has been introduced into the PDMS export. This improved dialog box control feature quickly shows any new steel sizes that may not map correctly in the current defined PDMS Steel SPEC. This has greatly improved the ability to update steel databases in the various countries that this link is now used.

MultiSUITE passes Windows XP compliance test....
After recent changes to all installation programs and copy protection device drivers we are now pleased to report that MultiSUITE passes the Windows XP and Windows 2000 compliance tests.

New Online Help pages and FAQ's....
The latest on-screen help pages have been improved using the latest windows based knowledge base and dynamic control help system. Robohelp is an advanced help authoring software that has enabled our development and support staff to greatly improve the navigation of the help system. Search, Frequently Asked Questions and Tips sections have been added. The latest version of the help files can be downloaded free of charge for all maintained users.
